May-o-Dee was born with a cleft nose. The vet examined her palate & it seems to be fully formed & closed. Her cleft nose causes her to have "turbulent airflow through cleft nasum". Her breathing is noisy & she snores a small bit. She also seems to have a slight speech impediment, she has a deep nasally meow that seems to be abbreviated. Her sense of smell is very poor & it affects her appetite. It has been a struggle to find food she will actually eat & she is prone to Upper Respiratory Infections. This has resulted in May-o-Dee being well underweight for her age. She is a very playful little girl & she likes to sleep on your lap. She gets along well with other cats & she is a joy to be around. She might require a little more care over her lifetime for Upper Respiratory Infections but should live a pretty normal life with the condition.
She would do best in home with an experienced cat care provider.
This kitty is currently in a loving foster home and has been tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, has age appropriate vaccinations, and has been spayed/neutered.
